What is Cold Processed Soap?

Cold processed soap-making is a traditional and natural method that has been around for centuries.

Cold process soap making is a method where oils and fats are combined with a lye solution to create soap through a natural chemical reaction called saponification. No external heat is applied during the saponification process. The mixture is left to cure and harden over several weeks, resulting in a gentle and moisturizing soap.

Should I worry about the use of lye in your soap?

Lye is also known as sodium hydroxide and is a crucial ingredient in the soap-making process. Lye is used to saponify fats and oils, which means it reacts with them to form real soap. This process is called saponification.

During saponification, lye is completely neutralized, resulting in soap and glycerin. This means that no lye remains in our finished soap bars.

How long will the soap bars last?

The longevity of a 5 oz soap bar can vary depending on factors like frequency of use, how it is stored and specific ingredients use. On average, it might last anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks with daily use.

Our Story

Long before Evident Soap was a business, soap making was solely a hobby for Natalie Clause, starting in 2013. This interest derived from a place of pure curiosity and a genuine love for science, sprinkled with crafting and creating in her every day life.

In September of 2022, Natalie and her family were deeply impacted by Hurricane Ian, which made landfall in South Florida. Their home, vehicles and all their personal property were destroyed by floodwaters reaching as high as five feet.

During this time of adversity and loss, Natalie decided to propel her energy not only into the recovery process but also building something new. She began her journey of creating Evident Soap with others in mind, focusing on research and development of all-natural soap making. Her mission was to formulate several all-natural soaps and encourage others to transition from commercial detergent soap by seeing, experiencing and believing in the benefits of investing in oneself.

With nearly a decade of prior business ownership, years of experience in laboratory science and management, and the knowledge of how all-natural ingredients can improve well-being, Natalie is passionate about delivering high-quality, and all-natural soaps for the nourishment of the skin and the betterment of overall health.

Her greatest hope and desire is that Evident Soap will leave you feeling more cared for, nourished, and refreshed in mind, body and spirit due to the investment in yourself and skincare.

She hopes the evidence of all-natural and pure ingredients will be found in the daily usage of the soap, which is crafted with genuine thoughtfulness and from an overflow of care for others' well-being.
